Greetings Mustangs!
I hope you all had a great summer. I am so excited to introduce myself to you and your families. My name is Grace Alrutz. This will be my third year teaching on the third grade team at Eanes Elementary, and fourth year working at Eanes. After joining EE, I could see there was truly something magical happening on this campus and I am delighted to be here as your third grade teacher.
After spending nearly five years in non-profit fundraising, I decided to follow my heart and pursue a career in education. My time working with and serving some of Austin’s most vulnerable residents has helped build my enthusiasm for helping people. It was and still is a passion of mine to bring humanity and kindness into environments that are often overlooked. I believe this passion will help me create a dynamic and supportive learning environment for our class. My goal is to create a classroom where all learners feel safe and successful.
I am a native Austinite; I was born in central Austin and grew up in south Austin. After graduating from high school, I atteneded Texas A&M (Whoop!) where I received a Bachelor’s of Business Administration in Marketing in 2011. Over the last several years, my work has focused on teaching and creating meaningful community connections. Through this work I’ve come to know that working with students and families is my greatest joy.
In my free time, I love to explore this amazing city, craft, travel, cook, and play! I enjoy spending time with my finance and our dog, Ollie. In addition, family is a huge part of my life. On the weekends you can find me with my many siblings, nieces, and nephews.
I look forward to having you in my class. YOU are the reason I am here. I am excited about building a community. Together we are going to have a great year!
